At St Anne's, we follow A Journey in Love, which is a Relationships and Sex Education programme recommended for use in Catholic schools. The programme supports and complements the teaching of Religious Education, PSHE and Science through a carefully planned, progressive approach to learning.
As children grow and develop, they naturally become more aware of themselves, others and the world around them. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to flourish academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We recognise each child as unique and loved by God.
A Journey in Love is an important part of our curriculum and helps children to understand relationships, family life, friendship, community and their own personal development within the context of the Catholic faith. The programme is delivered across all year groups in an age-appropriate and sensitive manner, supporting children as they grow in confidence, understanding and faith.
The lessons are carefully tailored to the children’s stage of development and maturity, ensuring that topics are introduced with care and respect. Opportunities for discussion and questions are encouraged within lessons, helping children to feel supported, listened to and valued as they learn.
